Jail - You Can Help Me 1976

The short-lived German band project JAIL began in 1975 when the Cologne guitarist Burkhard Lipps was introduced to the bassist Werner Kopal by an A&R scout from the record company EMI. The two met for a jam session and then agreed to work together under the name Jail. As the third member of the group, they were able to recruit the singer and guitarist Gunter Hoffmann, who had previously been working on a solo career in the Cologne area. John Bonham fan Joachim Greuel, an extremely technically accomplished drummer, also joined the group. These four met several times a week in a rehearsal room... directly on the banks of the Rhine and composed their own song material there. The band then produced demo recordings of the songs and, on this basis, signed a record deal with EMI. In the spring of 1976, JAIL went into the EMI studio and recorded... their only album "You Can Help Me".
