The Danish group "Days" was formed in Copenhagen in winter 1967/68 by Peter Lindhe (drums), John Kjaergaard (vocals, rhythm guitar), Ole Fester (vocals, bass), and Lars Reinau (vocals, lead guitar). The band repertoire was, mainly rock and blues-oriented with cover versions of songs from John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and Rolling Stones. During 1968/1969 Petr Lindhe and Lars Reinau started writing original material for the band and the repertoire started changing from rock/blues cover versions to self-composed more lyrical songs with elements of Beatles, Procol Harum, and (early) Deep Purple.
In 1969 Jorn Anker (Hammond organ) joined the Days and he too starts contributing new original songs to the band. This change in music style eventually led to the departure of singer John Kaergaard so by late 1969 Days were: Peter Lindhe, Lars Reinau, Ole Fester, and Jorn Anker. I 1968, 1969, and 1970 Days performed in several radios broadcasts with studios recordings made in Danmarks Radio (DR) plus one "live" DR radio broadcast from "Studenterforeningen" in Copenhagen in the summer of 1969.
In the early 1970 Days participated in three days of "Music and Light" happening in Broendby Copenhagen with some other progressive bands. On this occasion, Days stood out from of the bands by combining the bands' self-composed material with songs by Rolling Stones and Chuck Berry. This led to very favorable reviews in the Danish newspapers and furthermore this event drew Spectator Record's attention to the band. The Days LP was recorded in the early summer of 1970.
In 1971 they split up due to musical discrepancies. Peter Lindhe and Jorn Anker formed a new group again under the "Days" name. This band later made two LPs recorded for the Stonet label. Ole Fester quit performing music altogether and Lars Reinau went to other roads touring and recording with other bands.
