Brownsmith - Brownsmith 1975
The Pacific Northwest soft rock duo "Brownsmith" were Don Brown and Garrett Smith, both of whom had moderately successful careers as studio musicians. Somehow, while touring, their path lay in neighboring Canada, where the duo was supplemented by several guest musicians, including Freddie Salem from the Florida band The Outlaws and a former member of the no less famous Los Angeles band Buffalo Springfield, Doug Hastings on guitars, drummer Michael Kindler and keyboardist Stacy Christianson from the Seattle band Gabriel, as well as bassist Paul McCandless from the highly publicized jazz fusion band Oregon, and a few others. Recorded by such a line-up, which turned out to be a cult among fans of such music, the only album "Brownsmith" was released twice in 1975 under slightly different covers and both times its circulation was instantly sold out.
