The first work of Alceu Valença and Geraldo Azevedo is a hidden gem of good Brazilian music that combines several northeastern styles with psychedelic rock. The arrangements - which would be made by Hermeto Pascoal - ended with the experienced tropicalist conductor Rogério Duprat, who chose to use the quadraphonic system in the recording. This was the whooping cough of that early 1070s and it was nothing more than using four independent channels of sound coming from four different points of the recording room, instead of the traditional two channels. The novelty drew so much public attention that the name of this system was stamped on the cover of the disc in an exaggerated size, which is why the disc is known as Quadraphonic, even though this is not its title. Anyway, the price of the equipment to make this album would be huge and the project did not succeed. "Quadrafônico", which was designed to be heard from beginning to end and so you can 'touch' the textures, effects, and colors that cross the border of music and straighten you towards the visual arts.
The regionalism of the pair is there but it is not the determinant. There are ciranda, coco, viola caipira, rock but it is the psychedelia that gives the league. The conversation between musicians and technicians during the recording sessions in the studio is also present on the disc, another novelty to increase the listener's illusion of immersion in the sound.
